Educational visit to winery

About the Event

The third year students of B.Sc (Microbiology) of sathaye college had went to visit to wine information centre at Nasik,as a part of their curriculum for 1 day which was organized by our H.O.D. Dr. Shilpa Jadhav. It was a great exposure for students related to their curriculum. On entering the students along with teaching faculty  Dr Shilpa Jadhav And Ms. Snehal Dabhade were guided to different compartments of the winery.

The was founded by Mr. Vikrant Holkar. Red Grapes has been established with a vision in working for the development of Indian wine industry. It is a boutique business model which is specialized in Indian wine tourism, vineyard and winery consultancy , wine education and Indian wine promotion activities. Red grapes is the 1st Indian wine tourism operates  from vinchur , nasik.

The students after reaching the winery at niphal, nashik at around 10.30 A.M. were entered in the main production plant where they were shown the fermenters used for red and white wine, the barrels, quality control labs, the storage rooms where the finished product is stored , the vineyard. From here we moved to WIC where we were provided with the lunch and after lunch there was a small presentation given by Mr Holkar about his journey to build up this empire and then the wine testing activity was held. We were then guided to Vinchur Production plant from where we then took a leave.

The overall visit was very fruitful as the knowledge that was gained by students was related to their syllabus and hence made them to understand the theory very well. Besides this they also came to know about the opportunities for career in this field.
